University of Cambridge Investment Management Limited ("UCIM") is the organisation that manages the Cambridge University Endowment Fund ("CUEF"). The returns from the Fund support research, teaching, access to education and other numerous other activities across the University. Over the last ten years, the CUEF has distributed over £1.1bn to support this work.

We are seeking to hire our first apprentice to provide operational and administrative support to its operations and investment teams.

The Operations Specialist will assist the team in carrying out investment operations; managing transactions flow; monitoring and reporting investment performance of individual managers and asset classes, processing and monitoring of invoices and providing data and support for reports to the UCIM and Investment Board, the other committees and to investors.

BPP is the training provider of the apprenticeship programme. The role reports to the Investment Operations Manager and will work closely with the full Operations team.  

The role will support on the smooth functioning of the organisation and represents a great opportunity for candidates to gain hands-on experience in an investment organisation that contributes to the success of world-leading University.

UCIM operates between two sites, one in Cambridge and one in London. This role will be primarily based in the Cambridge office with frequent days in the London office, we also operate hybrid working to facilitate home working with the agreement of the relevant line manager.

The programme is 18 months and, on completion, we anticipate there will be an opportunity to work at UCIM on a permanent basis.
